Spring Ferry Arts Week Opens Across Bay Area Waterfront Venues
The week-long festival runs April 5-12 across Jack London Square, the Ferry Building, Alameda, and Richmond, featuring Estuary Realism exhibitions, Bay Drift showcases, and site-specific theatre along the Nimitz Greenway corridor.
Organized by a coalition of municipal arts commissions and waterfront business associations, Spring Ferry Arts Week 2026 is the most ambitious iteration of the festival to date. National prestige media have sent correspondents to cover the programming, with particular attention to Estuary Realism exhibitions in Oakland and Alameda and the growing reputation of Bay Drift as a genre with reach beyond the Bay Area. The festival has no central governing body, which organizers say keeps programming responsive to individual venue communities rather than institutional priorities.
