Hearth Sovereignty Movement Reaches Council Escalation Threshold
The Cultural Committee has recommended full Council escalation of the Hearth Sovereignty movement, which frames domestic retreat as resistance to Council technocratic overreach. Crystallized around Priya Nambiar-Lund's debut novel 'The Still House', it is the first ideological counter-movement to reach this review tier.
Priya Nambiar-Lund's novel is not long. It does not need to be. 'The Still House' describes a family that stops participating, not out of religious conviction and not out of despair, but as a deliberate political act against what Nambiar-Lund calls the Council's management of interiority. The Hearth Sovereignty movement that has formed around the book is careful to distinguish itself from domestic patriarchy, a distinction it makes repeatedly and which has allowed it to build a broader base than earlier anti-Council formations. The Cultural Committee's recommendation for full Council escalation marks the first time a social movement has reached that review tier since the Council's current governance structure was formalized. No Council member has commented publicly.
