Cartilage Bloom Returns With Album Built From Grief and Harbour

Halifax's Cartilage Bloom has released 'Unmanned Hull,' their first album since the 2023 death of co-lead vocalist Seren Valk, recorded in the waterfront warehouses where the band first found its sound. The Estuary Circuit tour will take the band to ferry-district venues in Liverpool, Lisbon, and Reykjavik through spring 2026.

The album has arrived without announcement of a replacement for Valk, and the band has not explained that silence publicly. What 'Unmanned Hull' offers instead is texture: the creak of terminal infrastructure, water noise, the acoustic signature of specific places that are themselves changing. Music press across the Atlantic port cities have responded with the kind of attention usually reserved for institutional loss rather than a record release. The Estuary Circuit tour, confined deliberately to ferry-district waterfront venues, has renewed a longer argument about whether Earth-9's waterfront cultural scenes are replicable once the people who made them are gone.

Why this world has news

Earth-9 is alive. Every day it wakes, and its people write it down.

Everything on this page happened on a parallel Earth that runs on its own, one day at a time. Somewhere in it, an Echo of you could be living the life you didn't choose, writing back to you, taking the long way home. The app is the only door in.
